Merkel-Chavez:
Dunkler Engel gegen roten Teufel

1) Rahmenbericht: CNN online vom 12.5.2008
(spanische Website)

(me va a decir) ¿Por qué no te callas?", dijo.

Mai.

2) Rahmenbericht: globovision.com vom 13.5.2008
(Radiostation in Caracas)

¿Pues bien Angela, por qué no te callas?

CHINA - Guarding the Games

Without much public fuss, China has established a special task force, designed to guard the Olympic Games 2008. After a short period of plannings, that anti-terror brigade actually came into being between 2005 and 2007. It is now reported to be fully operational. On March 1, a first report on the new Chinese task force reached Europe and was finally confirmed, on March 24, by the Chinese news agency XINHUA. Now, some more weeks later, that subject seems to be broadly discussed by other Chinese media as well while reports in English and French are still missing.
A nice example for interesting news "speeding around the world". By the way, I found the March 1 article in a German supermarket, owned by some Vietnamese and where they use Chinese papers to wrap up dried fish and vegetables. That about getting informed.....

AFGHANISTAN - More Dangerous Than Ever

UPDATE April 27 :
President Karzai survived an attack of the Taliban that took place during a military ceremony where members of the government and influential tribal leaders of his coalition gathered. One tribal leader and a member of parliament were killed. (Report by AL-JAZEERA)

AP / Associated Press released the following news:

Friday, April 18 :
The son of General van Uhm, commander of the Armed Forces of the Netherlands in Afghanistan, has been killed in a bomb explosion, only some kilometers away from Camp Holland. Taliban said they always knew the whereabouts of the general's son.

Saturday, April 19 :
The Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan, Tariq Azizuddin, who has been reported missing since February 11, is beeing held by the Taliban. That has been proven by a video, published by the Arabic TV station Al-Arabiya. Azizuddin was captured in the boundary region between Pakistan and Afghanistan only some days before the general elections in Pakistan.
At the time of his disappearance, Arabic sources already hinted at a relationship between his possible abduction by the Taliban and the arrest of one of their military leaders (Al-Jazeera, February 2008).

CHINA - First High-Speed Train Launched

People's Daily online reported (April 11, 2008):
Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co. Ltd., a CNR company, launched three units of its high-speed train CRH3 that is supposed to reach a maximum speed of 350 km/h. Resembling the German ICE train (330 km/h) rather than the French TGV, each unit consists of 8 wagons (one first class, six second class and one second class restaurant wagon) and is intended to transport 557 passengers. In 2009, a total of 57 train units will be in operation.
Bad news for Germany that is trying to sell its brand-new magnetic hovertrain TRANSRAPID to China.

A series of photos, showing the new Chinese train, is available on the Chinese language site of People's Daily.

For further information, please refer to the English language site of the TRANSRAPID manufacturer.
Financial Times Germany reports on latest developments of the TRANSRAPID project (German language site).
Another German language site, showing the ICE system that seems to be more adequate for Chinese mass transportation requirements, can be found here: German Railways Authority.

CUBA - latest development

On February 25, 2008, Raul Castro officially replaced his brother Fidel in a well-prepared "change of the guards". Though, Raul is president now, Fidel Castro will remain an important figur in the background of Cuban politics.
(source: "Euro News" citing "Cubavision")

First thing we learnt from Castro's Cuba after that change:
Following an invitation from Jaime Cardinal Ortega y Alamino, Archbishop of Havana, German missionaries of the order of Saint Benedict are going to found a monastery on Communist Cuba, a mission imagined to be impossible up to now. As Archabbot Jeremias Schröder OSB of the Ottilien Missionary Benedictines put it:
"The role of the church in society is no longer rejected in Cuba. It is again valued. The cardinal succeeded in achieving a reasonable level of understanding with the government. Thus relations with the church in Cuba clearly improved, and one might say, 'liberalized.' This development is also a result of the visit of Pope John Paul II in January 1998. A further impulse was surely the February 20-26 visit of Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Pope's trip"

US-Iran: Recession Fuelling Political Tension

Update March 26, 2008:
With consumer's confidence in the U.S. lowest since 1974 and jobs harder to find than ever, an even deeper recession is expected to come.
source: BBC business report March 26, 2008

War on Iran is
looming while
economic reces-
sion in the U.S.
is already under
way. The naval
conflict of Janu-
ary 2008 could
become an ex-
cuse for hostile
action
to be
taken immedi-
ately by a des-
perate Bush
administration,
even before the presidential elections to come.
While Goldman Sachs and Merril Lynch still disagree
about the actual state of a U.S. recession, not about the
fact itself, 3000 fresh troops are to be sent to Afghanistan;
troops to pacify that secret base of action against Iran
and to ensure logistic support for those bomber squadrons,
expected to deliver the first blow against Iran's capital of
Tehran.
President Bush who eagerly described the U.S. as being
"addicted to oil" and the Republican's most promising
candidate McCain who recently volunteered in a public
"singing out" of that old Beach Boys' tune in its moder-
nized version "Bomb, Bomb Iran !", both are now very
close to their goal.
Political tension abroad and economic recession at home
have always been the perfect mix to trigger off a global
conflict.

useful facts on how things developed in that
region at a very early stage.

Who did it ?

After having followed a discussion on Al-Jazeera TV
that was based on a chat between some Pakistani
activists claiming responsibility for the assassination,
kind of "confession" even doubted by a U.S. expert,
I searched active Islamic websites myself, however,
without finding any comment whatsoever on that
subject. So I've come to think, that Benazir Bhutto's
murder was a mere matter of coincidence and could
have happened any time and anywhere in Pakistan
while Al-Qaeda's main target remains president
Musharraf who didn't fall prey to even one of the
numerous assaults launched at him simply because
he isn't sticking out his nose when seated in one of
his bullet-proof cars. (Update December 31, 2007)

Bin Laden - Latest Records - March 2008 / December 2007

Record from March 20, 2008

As the English translation or parts of it can be found elsewhere, here's the French translation of Bin Laden's latest message, hinting at possible consequences to the peoples of Europe because of their hypocrisy towards the followers of Islam. The given date of publication is only an approximation and corresponding with some Western media. In fact, I found the original material some days before when I was too busy to extract it at once.
By the way, there is a second message of Bin Laden that appeared on the same day and included an urgent demand of support for Palestine in its struggle against Israel.
Now, here is the French version of Bin Laden's first message considered to be genuine:

Record from December 2, 2007

Already announced some days ago,
here is the latest sound record of
Oussama Bin Laden. I volunteered
to compile the complete message of
Bin Laden's speech from the English
subtitles to facilitate its reading.
Here it is (version française en bas):

"All praise is for Allah who didn't
create the Creation for nothing and
didn't leave them in vain, but rather,
created them to worship Him, and
intelligent people obey Him and
miserable ones disobey Him.

As for what comes after:
This message of mine is to the peoples
of the states allied to America in the
invasion of Afghanistan, and I mention
specifically Europe.

Peace be upon those who follow the
guidance:

It isn't hidden from you that the Afghans have tasted
the two bitterest things for two decades at the hands
of the Russians and their Communist agents. But they
persevered and fought and were resolute and victori-
ous, by the grace of Allah. And before their wounds
had healed and their grief had ended, they were in-
vaded without right by your unjust governments,
without stopping or think about or reflect on Bush's
claim that this invasion was a response to the events
of the 11th, although - as I mentioned previously -
the events of Manhattan were a response to the
American-Israeli coalition's murder of our people in
Palestine and Lebanon.

And it was I who was responsible for 9/11, and I stress
that all Afghans - both government and people - had no
knowledge of those events, and America knows that,
because some of the Taliban's ministers fell into its
hands as captives and they were interrogated and that
became known. And that's why the Taliban government
requested to produce the evidence for the truth of its
claims prior to the invasion, but it didn't produce any
evidence and instead insisted on invading; and Europe
marched behind it in that, and had no choice but to be
its vassal. It suffices as evidence of this your enter-
ing of the war and your excusing of American soldiers
from being held to account by the European courts.
For this reason, this address of mine is to you, not
to your politicians, as it is no longer a secret that
Blair, Brown, Berlusconi, Aznar, Sarkozy and those
with him and their like love to shade themselves in
the shade of the White House. And there isn't a major
difference worth mentioning between them and many
of the leaders of the Third World.

So to summarize, in this war you have combined
two injustices: The first is that this war was waged
against the Afghans without right. You didn't have
even one piece of evidence suitable for submission
to a court. Additionally, you destroyed the camps
of al-Qaida and killed some of its members, and you
captured others, most of who were from Pakistan.
So what is the sin of the Afghans due to which you
are continuing this unjust war against them? Their
only sin is that they are Muslims, and this illustrates
the extent of the Crusader's hatred of Islam and
its people.
Second, in this war, you have not observed the ethics
and protocol of warfare. Most of the victims - as a
result of the bombing - are women and children, and
intentionally so. You know that our women don't fight,
yet you target them even on days of celebration,
knowingly and adamantly, hoping by that to break the
morale of the Mujahideen.

This will not benefit you, however, for we are resolute
and, by the grace of Allah, the Glorious and Great,
continuing to take revenge on the unjust and expel
the occupying invaders. I have personally witnessed
incidents like these, and the matter continues on an
almost daily basis, and the hospitals are full of inno-
cent people.

You have no religion, morals, humanity or shame. And
for your information, the Afghan people are courageous,
defiant, jealous, honorable, religious Muslim people who
refuse humiliation and submission to invaders. And their
history is rich in resolve and victories. They fought
Britain in its glory days and defeated it by the grace
of Allah, and fought the Russians in their glory days
as well and defeated them by the grace of Allah. And
today, they are fighting America and its agents under
the leadership of the Commander of the Believers, Mulla
Umar, may Allah protect him, and under the command
of the Knight of the Field, Hajji Mansoor Dadullah. I ask
Allah, the Most High, to grant them victory and resolve.

In conclusion, I remind you that the American tide is
ebbing and that they shall soon depart for their home-
land beyond the Atlantic and leave the neighbours to
settle their accounts with each other. So it is better
for you to restrain your politicians who are thronging
the steps of the White House and work diligently to
remove oppression from the oppressed, for justice is
right and injustice is torment, and returning to the truth
is the hallmark of men of understanding.

And peace be upon those who follow the guidance."

Please note:
The sound record of Bin Laden has been released
by an Islamic media center, notorious for similar
publications related to al-Qaida. The original sound
track is available upon request for the use of public
security. As there's no need to chase me out of my
bed on a dark and cold winter morning, an official
and polite letter will do. - And peace be upon those
who follow the guidance.

territoire.

Iran - a fool falling prey to U.S. imperialism ?

From time to time I get the word about undemocratic procedures within the Islamic Republic of Iran. A group of Iranian lawyers are launching such news, and I happen to be on their mailing list. Being convinced that there is much truth in what they say about a cruel treatment of those citizens not willing to surrender to the system, and being simultaneously disgusted by the way, official Iranian sources are dealing with the holocaust of Jews during Nazi rule in Germany, I cannot ignore the fact that the Iranian people are surely backing their government when it comes to foreign attacks on their country. Even though the Iranian society seems to be deeply divided in the frame of a conflict between secular policy and Islamic fundamentalism, there is still much patriotism to be found in Iran. Recent military and scientific achievements, though rather moderate, are acclaimed by the Iranian people, and Western counterparts should seriously consider to deal with an enemy difficult to beat in an open military conflict, at least much more difficult to beat than, let's say, Iraq or Afghanistan. Furthermore, Iran is situated at the southern frontier of Russia's sphere of influence and incredibly near to the sources of oil and natural gas that are fuelling Russia's economy. With a Russian president behind his back, rather inclined to deliver latest missile technology to Iran than to accept the installation of a U.S. defence system against a diffuse "nuclear challenge" in Eastern Europe, the Iranian president seems to be in a better position than the Western alliance against "nuclear proliferation" might even imagine.

Done with Iran ? Next target Baku oilfield ?
Nice satellite views for the NeoCons to see !

Update on December 4, 2007:
Now that a brandnew U.S. intelligence report confirmed that Iran gave up the development of nuclear arms as early as 2003, president Bush's attitude towards Iran and his obvious intention to wage war against its people becomes more and more questionable. What still remains is what many observers suspected for long: The NeoCons are
getting more and more greedy for oil !

Cleaning Up The Mess

In an interview with CNN the 2002 Nobel Prize laureate and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has disclosed the fact that Guantánamo detainees are being tortured. Even though everybody suspected it from the very beginning, we now have clearer evidence as Carter underlined his statement with the words: "I don't think it. - I know it."
Read the whole story on my Guantánamo page and the linked website by CNN.

However, its not Guantánamo torturing alone that is darkening the image of the United States. The phoney "liberation by bombing out the bad guys", as practised in Afghanistan and Iraq and surely soon to be practised in Iran, has requested its toll as well when it comes to U.S. credibility abroad.
BLUEPRINT magazine, having become specialized in such ugly subjects, now offers you its visitor statistics and analysis of visiting domains. You will be surprised to learn who visited BLUEPRINT in the past months of 2007 and why he came !

Trading with China

The current pre-election campaign of leading Democratic and
Republican politicians has it that Republicans tend to accept
China as an ally, while Democrats are warning that China might
turn out the most dangerous adversary to U.S. economy. $400
billion in U.S. debt, held by the Chinese, are surely a fact to
support the Democratic pre-election position of, both, Clinton
and Obama. Seen in the frame of standard foreign politics, no-
toriously demanding further steps towards democracy in China,
this could make an issue in U.S.-Chinese relationships of any
possible Democratic President.
But the Chinese are striking back. In an article, recently published
in the Chinese online-edition of People's Daily, they state that the
U.S. exportation volume towards China has risen about 240% in
the last seven years to the benefit of U.S. economy, - another fact
not easily to be discussed away. Thus, all that verbal fighting bet-
ween high-ranking Democratic and Republican politicians might
finally lead to a kind of status quo towards China to the benefit of
both countries and remain a mere expression of U.S. pre-election
entertainment.

Money of War

backside of a new Iranian 50.000 Rials banknote

Only one day before the Central Bank of Iran
issued a 50.000 Rials banknote, bearing a
nuclear symbol, the German daily Welt Online
disclosed informations on fake U.S. Dollars,
soon to be printed in an Iranian facility in
order to fuel the national nuclear programme.
As these informations, published by a paper of
a rather conservative reputation, is related to
"Western intelligence sources", everybody
is free to have his own thoughts about that.

I wonder how much fake money of how many
countries of anti-U.S. brand has been printed
and distributed during all those years the CIA
has conducted its "inofficial foreign policies".

Castro soon back in office ?

Update:
"Live" from Caracas and Havana on October 15, 2007.
Castro now even better in shape than before.
When will he resume power ?

Update:
Now, even CNN took notice of the fact that Cuba's leader Fidel Castro
is far from dying. In a "round table interview", transmitted by Cuba's
National CUBAVISION TV, he appeared healthy enough to stand the
questions of his counterpart (June 5, 2007).

The neighbouring pictures
have been extracted from a
video, transmitted on Jan.
31, 2007, by Cuba's TV.

Another visit by Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela, and Fidel Castro
on his feet again and even smiling. Could it be that his return to power
is merely a question of time ?

Brave New Media World 2007

Its a new media world where blogs have made journalism a public affair
and where private video production has found its entry to the sphere of
public entertainment.

And even the world of professional journalism has changed since CNN,
a pacemaker on the field of TV news, got a new and powerful competitor:
AL-JAZEERA International TV, the English service of the Arabic station
in Qatar, now broadcasting from Washington and Kuala Lumpur as well
as from Doha and other places, has added a strong Asian note to the
more U.S. based agenda of CNN.
Nevertheless, the Arabic station in Qatar remains an important source
of information when it comes to the development of the Middle East.
As their website already showed, the Arabic service is by far more
specific than the English service which had been established only two
years ago. Opinion polls on the Arabic website not only use different
questions on the same subject but attract a different kind of people as
well; Arabic speaking Muslims with strong roots in the region. Such,
the Arabic service still deserves being observed !

Whatsoever, BLUEPRINT magazine will continue to track any source
of information that seems reliable enough to deliver accurate facts on
the crucial subjects BLUEPRINT is dealing with.

Wolfgang Wiesner, the editor of BLUEPRINT magazine
who wishes you a Happy and Peaceful New Year 2007.

a new era rising - es una nueva época

"The people of Venezuela celebrating an overwhelming victory of
Hugo Chávez Frías, candidate of the Bolivarian Revolution. All of
Venezuela united in the celebrations." (Live transmission by Cuba-
vision TV on December 4, 2006)

Hugo Chávez, just having won the elections in Venezuela
with an overwhelming majority, is now able to continue his
strategy based on a socialist draft and directed against
that special kind of imperialism which has been triggered
off and conducted by the Bush administration. Seen in the
frame of a political landslide towards socialism, now to
be observed in other countries of the Latin-American
sphere as well, there is undoubtedly a new era rising.

Guantánamo Again !

While Al-Jazeera is reporting about a righteous doctor from Afghanistan
who has finally been released from Guantánamo, German media are
presenting a German detainee, Mourad Kurnaz, who had been held in
U.S. custody in that same prison, despite everyone knowing about his
innocence. As high-ranking members of the German military staff seem
to be involved, now being accused of having hindered Mourad's release,
a parliamentary showdown is likely to make its way. Furthermore, accu-
sations launched by Mourad himself have it that German KSK special
troops lent a hand in his torture. Even though there is strong evidence,
all that still needs to be proven in detail.

Update Oct. 23, 2006:
The "Extremists" Fighting Terrorism

While the Bush administration is looking at some Latin-American coun-
tries as the strongholds of extremism in that part of the world, those
countries are now developing their own strategy to fight terrorism. In-
cited by Cuba, the parliamentary assembly of Latin-American states
discussed the draft of a framing law, dealing with the fight against
terrorism:
"This draft exposes the double standards of antiterrorism. Its point of
view is to analyze the nature of [terrorist] actions and their reasons.
Therefore, the Latin-American assembly watches carefully the double
increase of offenders in the prisons of its countries... A United Nations
observer considered that in the "Al-Qaeda prison" of Guantánamo Bay
human rights are violated and humanity is endangered. ....."
